To strengthen and expand California's economy through jointly sponsored industry-university research partnerships.

Annual joint investment up to $60 million in state, industry, and university funds.

Fields:

*Inter-field research is encouraged.

Opportunity Awards are also available in all of the above fields.

Research Proposals:

For most fields, research proposals are accepted three times a year using an online proposal submission system. The Microelectronics Program only has one round/year.

Previous grants have ranged from $50,000 to over $3 million.

Eligible Industry Sponsors:

Businesses having relevant R&D operations in California or with a relevant R&D alliance with a firm in California.
